It was so short lived that some online gamblers
may have not even gotten wind of Casino Nordica. A newly launched site this year,
Casino Nordica management has closed their doors to new players
as of yesterday, July 2, 2007. An unexpected
announcement to say the least, Casino Nordica
is owned by the Danish gaming company,
Casinocontanter.com, who in addition to
possessing their own credible standing, is
owned by reputed parent company, SquareIT, who
manages the Jackpot Factory group of online
casinos.
According to Affiliate Manager Chris
Morton, management made the decision so that they
put could put more focus in their core brands, Casino.dk and
Poker Nordica. There is no word just yet
what management will decide to do with Poker
Nordica in regards to its integration with
Casino Nordica. There is some speculation that
online casino games will still be available
for players, but will only be so through the
Poker Nordica landing page. However, that
rumor was soon dispelled when Web surfers attempted to access the Casino Nordica
homepage, and were redirected to the Poker Nordica homepage where casino games
were not on the menu.
Again, starting
Monday July 2, Casino Nordica will no longer
sign up new players. Existing players,
however, will have a six month window to
continue gambling in the online casino, after which
time they will be refunded any outstanding
credits and all accounts will be closed.
Morton wrote a letter to partner sites and
affiliates earlier in the week urging them to
take down all links pointing to Casino Nordica. Although it is never a shock when an online
casino has to close its doors in this day
and age, the fact that Casino Nordica was
launched so recently, took many people by
surprise.
Casinocontanter.com has not alluded
to any cash shortages or business troubles,
but said an honest reassessment of the
company's goals requires they put more focus
in their established Danish casino and Poker
Nordica.
