For those online poker players and casino gamblers
who have not heard of Fifth Alarm Poker, then the phrase "Have Fun and Stay
Safe" does not have as deep a meaning as it does coming from the firefighters
who frequent this new poker room. Fifth Alarm is actually a partner site
of Absolute Poker and uses the propriety software branded to fit the fifth alarm
playing table.
Fifth Alarm is considered a recently formed poker
league, and recently issued a press release announcing the first in a series of
charity contributions that the poker league plans to give as part of their
upcoming tournaments. The first of these tournaments is scheduled on
August 7, and begins at 8:30 p.m. Eastern Standard time. For each player
who enters the Charity tournament, Fifth Alarm Poker will donate $25 to the
Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
While the league is designed to bring together
firefighters and emergency medical technicians from around the United States,
entrants of the tournament are not required to be firefighters or EMT's, but
must only be ready and willing to join a good cause and play competitive online
poker. The firefighter behind the charity, John Molnar, has a
brother-in-law suffering from cystic fibrosis, which is a disease that can can
be cured if only the proper research is undertaken.
In addition to the jackpot money, Fifth Alarm is
giving away a Sirius Sportster Radio (valued over $200) donated by Sirius Poker.
Fifth Alarm is also extending an invitation to online webmasters who advertise
the upcoming tournament, for which they will give a sponsorship title. The
tournament itself only requires a $25 buy-in, and can be joined by visiting the
special tournaments tab in the Absolute Poker Software platform.
