World's Top Online Gambling
Advisory Groups Merge to Form the RGA
Two of the internet's top online gambling
organizations, Association of Remote Gambling
Operators (ARGO) and the Interactive Gaming,
Gambling and Betting Association (IGGBA), have
combined their interests to create the RGA - The
Remote Gambling Association. The new
organization's primary interests are in line with
both of the groups current ideals, which include a
uniform fair gambling protocol and online gambling
code of conduct for gambling site operators like
sportsbooks and online casinos.
Considering that both the IGGBA and ARGO are both primarily composed of
online casino owners, operators and software suppliers, membership into the new
organization is limited to other gaming operators who reside in legally
regulated jurisdictions such as the Isle of Man. The group will be based
in the UK, undoubtedly contributing to the exercising of the UK Gambling Bill.
The new chief of the gambling advisory group will be Clive Hawkswood, who is the
current Chief Executive.
The IGGBA, which has been under fire in past days for having one of its Board
of Directors caught using malware for his companies network of online casinos,
has been criticized for giving out its Seal of Approval too partially to its
eclectic mix of highly powerful gambling moguls. The group, however, is
largely responsible for creating some of the most uniform and ethical standards
for internet betting operators. Furthermore, they have successfully
overseen the successful enforcement of these very same regulations to some of
the largest and most popular online casinos on the Web.
Now, with the addition of the IGGBA to ARGO, the RGA is in an excellent
position to carry on this legacy and become the leading authority on internet
gaming regulations and practices. The group goes active on August 1, 2005.
