RTG Online Software Developer Could Relocate to Costa Rica

Real Time Gaming (RTG), who is known throughout the online gambling industry as a top-notch developer of online casino gaming software, could be moving their company headquarters from Atlanta, Georgia to the more gambling friendly locale of Costa Rica. Stemming from unidentified sources claiming to have close ties with Real Time Gaming, then later published by a handful of online casino portals, the news has not been confirmed by RTG officials as of yet.

While it is likely the company is indeed looking to operate their gaming business elsewhere, the prospects of moving to Costa Rica seemmore likely to a certain extent. All things considered, Costa Rica is home to several online gaming companies. Furthermore, the online gambling industry is one of the leading generators of revenue for the country. However, following the arrests of several Costa Rica based executives in the gaming business, some speculation has risen as to how much the Costa Rican government will stand up to the United States.

Since the passing of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, the entire industry has been on edge to one degree or another. Founder of Bodog Casino and Director of Bodog online gambling operations, Calvin Ayre, recently decided to leave Costa Rica for what is presumably, the very same aforementioned reasons. Now headquartered on the gambling friendly island of Antigua and Barbuda (which is in a fierce WTO battle with the U.S.), it could be said that Bodog is in more of a protected environment against the U.S. crackdown.

Regarding the soundness of the Real Time Gaming rumors, gaming analysts are taking them seriously. The news leak also reported that Real Time Gaming has been seeking to sell the company, having recently been in talks with a serious buyer, although no deal has been confirmed at this time. Furthermore, the news leak stated that employees were told the company would be closing in the near future, and that staff members would not be relocated to Costa Rica, or wherever for that matter. RTG Online Casinos will continue to do business as usual, regardless if RTG is acquired, moves, stays where they are, or all of the above.
