It seems that Ladbrokes has made good on its promise to target the Asian
gambling sector. The gambling company just successfully integrated Dynasty
Gaming's Mahjong Mania software platform with its own online betting interface.
The announcement was made by Mahjong Systems Ltd., who is a subsidiary of
Dynasty, and the world's leading manufacturer of Mahjong betting software.
In fact, the company was the first to bring a version of Mahjong to the
internet, which also permitted real-money wagers.
The particulars of the deal give Mahjong Systems Ltd. licensing fees, and
what could be substantial rake percentages so long as the software meets the
expectations of Ladbrokes. The whole reason the company is entering the
market in the first place is because the Asian betting industry is growing in
leaps and bounds - already one of the largest in the world. And while the
online component of this booming sector has hardly been tapped into, a greater
number of powerhouse online casino operators are taking a close look at Asia's
most popular gambling game. Many gamblers deem Mahjong to be China's
national game, while others consider it the most popular game on the face of the
earth.
Mahjong Systems President, Adrian Brink said the company intends to do
business with already established casino and gaming companies, so that the
software will have a far-reaching effect. And with Ladbrokes already
having a substantial portion of the Asian betting community targeted, the deal
is very propitious to both companies.
The deal with Ladbrokes is definitely the most high profile partnership that
Mahjong Systems has had to date. Yet, the company has already signed a
handful of other licensees, including online sportsbooks and casino sites.
By the close of this year, the company plans to have several more prized
contracts, which is already looking like a given. In the meantime, a close
watch will be on Ladbrokes and its database of growing Asian players and new
online Mahjong players.
