Harrah's New Orleans Gets New GM

Online Casino Conditions Staff
January 3, 2006

In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, online casinos fans are continuing to read about changes being made at the many land-based casinos that were effected. Even though online casinos players may have not been effected as a whole, the dynamics of these situations at the land casinos are interesting nonetheless.

Online casinos players understand that the hurricane effected not only the physical aspects of the casinos effected but, the management and casino workers, too. Today, Harrah's Entertainment, Inc. revealed that Jim Hoskins will be given the position of senior vice president and general manager of Harrah's New Orleans Casino. This is contingent on required regulatory approvals. However, it is not believed that any obstacles will get in the way.

Previously, Hoskins was the senior vice president and general manager of Grand Casino Gulfport. In his new upcoming position, he is replacing Dan Nita, who was recently given a new senior vice president and general manager position at Caesars Atlantic City.

Online casino players are also learning that his new position in New Orleans will be a great fit since he is from the Gulf Coast area. He is familiar with Gulf Coast casinos and has held several casino positions in the past. For 2 years from 2003 to 2005, he even had Vegas experience by holding the position senior vice president and chief financial officer of Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. This was during a major period of expansion for the well-known Vegas casino.

Prior to joining Caesars Palace, Hoskins held a number of executive positions at Grand Casino Gulfport and the Beau Rivage in Biloxi. He studied quantitative business analysis at Louisiana State University and accounting at the University of South Alabama, and is licensed as a certified public accountant.

Many of us casino games players love to take a small break for online gambling to take a good trip to Vegas and it will certainly want to help the New Orleans economy if we visit there soon. With major changes like this happening, we should.
