Five sisters are nearly $5 million richer after
hitting the Megabucks slot machine progressive jackpot at the Great Blue Heron
Charity Casino in Ontario Canada this last weekend. The five-some were having a
ladies night out when at 11:01 p.m., Joanne McLeod hit the elusive, top-winning
symbol combination. The exact payout was for $4,956,920, which all five women
say they will equally split and intend to put to great use, which will include
building a larger house for their niece who is raising six children.
One sister, Susan Potts, said she is going to pay
off all of her bills and help her daughter who is working three jobs. Kim Potts
said she is going to buy her husband the dream car he always wanted. Sharing in
the excitement was a regular patron at Great Blue Heron who witnessed the win,
not to mention the management of Great Blue Heron Casino itself. This was the
largest jackpot ever won there, dwarfing the previous record of $2,056,353. The
third largest Megabucks jackpot ever won in Ontario, this was the third time the
jackpot was hit at Great Blue Heron Casino.
Megabucks is a wide area progressive slot machine,
which is networked at many casinos throughout the world. This particular
Megabucks jackpot is networked between all commercial and charity casino
gambling destinations in Ontario. Although not quite as large as the Nevada
Megabucks slot, which starts off at a minimum jackpot of $7 million, this
Megabucks is very capable of making millionaires, as this recent win certainly
proves.
The Great Blue Heron Casino, which is owned and
operated by the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation, is one of the
smallest First Nations in Canada. A thriving aboriginal community, the
Mississauga Nation (a branch of the Ojibway of the Three fire Confederacy) is
the closest First Nation to Toronto, which amounts to a steady stream of traffic
to the popular Great Blue Heron Casino. And with another multi-million jackpot
to their credit, its popularity is sure to grow even more.
