The airways will be seeing more online gambling in
a semi-literal sense now that low-fare European airline, Flybe, has announced
they have signed a deal with igaming software developer, PAF. Now offering
online casino games, bingo, lotteries and slots via Flybe.com, flying passengers
will now have the luxury of playing bets while booking flights, hotels and other
services through Flybe's website.
PAF, which is a charitable gambling operator
headquartered in Aland, Finland, has agreed to provide the necessary online
gaming licenses and manage the daily operations of the site. PAF has over forty
years experience in the land-based gambling industry and has been involved with
online gaming operations since 1999. With over 340 employees and offices in
Stockholm, Helsinki, Mariehamn and Tallinn, PAF certainly is well endowed for
the partnership.
Following the recent acquisition of BA Connect,
Flybe is now Europe's largest regional airline. Flybe now offers 159 routes (35
of which are new), has terminals in 23 UK airports and 36 European airports and
will have seventy airplanes in its fleet by the end of this year. Considering
the atmosphere in the UK is quite online casino friendly and that the vast
majority of Flybe's passengers are from the UK, the new site certainly has great
potential for success.
Flybe's Chief Commercial Officer, Mike Rutter, said
the partnership with PAF will enable Flybe to continue generating revenue, which
will ultimately help Flybe to keep doing what they do best - offering affordable
airfares in Europe. Flybe's Marketing Director, Simon Lilly, expanded on
Rutter's sentiments by expressing his confidence that Flybe customers will have
a more enjoyable online browsing experience with the addition of online casino
games, which include Roulette, Blackjack, Multi-hand Blackjack, Oasis Stud
Poker, Red Dog and Baccarat. Another great benefit of the online gaming platform
is that 20% of all proceeds will go to Flybe's charity of choice, the Make a
Wish Foundation.
