It is official that Boyd Gaming is serious about
increasing their presence even more in the Las
Vegas casino gambling industry. The company just announced that their
plans to acquire land for a casino resort have been fulfilled, and that all of
their expectations of an ideal locale have been met. The land, which is a
forty acre parcel, is located in northwest metro Las Vegas - directly near the
intersection of Interstate 15 and the Las Vegas Beltway. It was purchased
in the amount of $35 million, and the paperwork and closing is expected to be finalized
by the end of this week.
The exact land plot is located at the intersection of Lamb Blvd. and
Centennial Pkwy., on the southwest corner - and is starting to pan out as a
bustling area of activity for both locals and visitors in the city Nearby,
residential construction has already begun, and will be within legal parameters
as to how close a casino can be to residences. In addition to this
soon-to-be casino, Boyd Gaming operates several other properties in Las Vegas,
which the company says will complement each other very well, and thus
contributing further to Nevada's economy.
The CEO of Boyd Gaming, Bill Boyd, commented that the move to tap into the
local Las Vegas market, and not just the tourism brought in by casino resorts
has been a longstanding priority of the company - one which continues to grow
and evolve as the company itself does. Boyd revealed that construction
will begin next year, resulting in a full-service casino and hotel that will be
up and running for the service of all who want to gamble, be entertained, and
have a good time.
