Casino News Article of the Month: Neteller
Begins Paying out Online Gambling Funds to
U.S. Residents as Promised
Neteller has begun making good on their word
to start paying out the online gambling funds
of their U.S. account holders. Reports show
the eWallet began paying out the approximately
$94 million owed to U.S. citizens who had
racked up winnings playing at online casinos,
poker rooms and sports betting sites before
the U.S. Department of Justice seized
Neteller's assets and put its two former
directors in jail. Now that Neteller has come
to an agreement with the U.S. Attorneys
Office, which amounted to a $136 million plea
bargain, the financial blocks have been lifted
and Neteller can begin the lengthy process of
getting all players paid out who are still
owed money. U.S. Neteller accounts awaiting to
be paid out apparently range from the double
digits to hundreds of thousands of dollars.
One player is reportedly awaiting a payout of
$800,000 which was accumulated from online
poker tournaments. While they are busy making
things right, Neteller has also been busy
trumping up their new prepaid card to former
card holders. The new GlobeWallet Prepaid Card
is being offered through a partnership with
Conister Trust PLC and First Pay, and is
supposedly one of the best new prepaid cards
on the market. Being accepted at over 25
million merchants in 210 countries and at over
one million ATM's, Neteller's new card
certainly has the reach their former card did.
It apparently also has lower fees than other
prepaid cards. Furthermore, Neteller has said
they will not charge activation fees to
existing card holders who would like to
upgrade to the GlobeWallet card by August 8,
2007. Here's to you Neteller. Let us all hope
you can get back on your feet again and that
U.S. online gamblers will put their money to
good use.
