Call it remote
gambling or online casino gambling, the bottom line is that the Home Gambling
Network's (HGN) CEO, Mel Molnick, has obtained another patent from the European
Patent Office which enables him to offer live, real time casino gaming via online computer
systems, satellite, and cable. In short, if the betting is wireless, Molnick's patented technology will be able to accommodate it.
What is patented
is the remote wagering technology provided that fully enables remote wagering
without visiting a casino (online or land-based), betting shop, racing track or
any business that sells lottery tickets. Rather, using electronic fund
transfers, bettors can place bets via online and/or satellite wireless devices.
Molnick has not given word on how exactly he will implement the technology
through licensees, although it is expected to be used across the board in the
current online and wireless capacities now available.
What makes this
technology different than traditional online casino gambling is that everything
is done in real time. In other words, rather than using computer generated
odds and online casino software, the Home Gambling Network provides a real time
casino where live attendants conduct real time games the player can view through
an online webcam or cable television channel, which seems to be the most
preferred method as of yet.
Players may
recall seeing some online casinos offering live real time casino dealers through
their software platforms, which is essentially what Molnick's patent exclusively
holds the rights to. This is why Molnick brought up patent infringement
litigation when several online gambling sites were found using his patented
technology without being licensed by Home Gambling Network to do so. Now,
if any remote online gambling destination (even those in Europe) seeks to offer
live, real time casino gambling, they must do so at the discretion of Las Vegas
based, i2Corp., which is Molnick's parent company to HGN.
