With the recent
news of a U.S. crackdown on online sports gambling operations, the unveiling of
new online sportsbooks is getting special attention, most of which is inquiring
whether or not U.S. online gamblers will be targeted and/or permitted to place
bets on the casino style betting software platforms. One such company to
receive this attention is CYOP Systems International Inc., who has announced
their plans and intentions to develop an online sportsbook that could be up and
running before the end of 2006.
The subsidiary
online casino and sports betting software company of CYOP, Red Felt Software
Ltd., launched the Red Felt Online Casino just last month, which the company
says they will market in Europe and Asia. True to their word, the entrance
portal to their online casino has country-specific flags designating ten
different languages on their software platform. Interestingly enough, the
UK version, which obviously is in English, has a default currency of US dollars;
However, as of yet, the US crackdown has been geared towards internet
sportsbooks specifically marketing American bettors and has left the online
casino gambling industry relatively alone, aside from some legal encounters with
Antigua and Barbuda.
The potential for
online gambling expansion in Asia, however, is enormous right now, which CYOP
has taken note of, planning to follow up with a comprehensive online sportsbook
also developed by Red Felt Software. The internet sportsbetting site, yet to be
officially named, but likely under the url, RedFeltSportsBook.com, will offer
online punters a variety of bets, including parlays, over/under, teasers and
sport-specific money-lines. Of course, a major focus will be on European
football, which both the Asian and European online gambling community seeks out.
