German online gaming
giant, Gaming VC, has reported end of year losses for 2006, which the company
says they are seeking to offset by developing an online presence once again.
Largely impacted by the unclear regulatory situation in Germany, Gaming VC says
they are now looking into the prospects of entering the Italian online gambling
market. Managing the Casino Club brand, which consists of an online casino and
poker room, Gaming VC is also looking to develop an online sportsbook.
Chief Executive of
Gaming VC, Kenny Alexander, said the company will be putting their focus into
setting up an affiliate program and marketing their brand via the internet. It
is surprising to think that Gaming VC has made it as far as they have without an
affiliate program. However, a mailing campaign was successful at bringing in
lots of business from German speaking gamers. Competing against a state-run
gambling monopoly in Germany, Gaming VC has been facing some tough times.
Alexander says he is
confident that liberalization is on the horizon in Germany and in more of Europe
overall. A decision is expected later this year by German authorities whether or
not to allow the gambling market to embrace privately owned and operated betting
companies. Increased pressure by the European Union and recent court rulings may
certainly help to influence how the German government goes about making this
decision.
In the meantime, Gaming
VC is investigating their best options to keep them afloat in these trying
times. In addition to a tentative Italian facing online sportsbook, the company
is already busy developing an online bingo and poker tournament offering, which
they hope will be ready by the Fall of 2007. With over 58,000 active customers
and over 100,000 registered users, the Casino Club brand gives Gaming VC good
reason to invest and expand.
