Everest Online Poker Room has issued a press
release announcing an upcoming poker tournament that looks like the online
gaming sites largest event ever. Called the Everest Poker European
Championship, this tournament is scheduled to bring players together from all
over Europe, including Holland, Spain, Germany, Scandinavia, France and Italy.
Open to all online players/members of Everest Poker, the tournament will be
running through September of 2006, and will consist of a series of free roll
online tournaments. The winners of the satellite tournaments will
culminate into a showdown of one-hundred players at the Casino de Barcelona in
Spain.
First place will walk away with a €50,000 prize
pool, while the winners of local and online tournaments will, at the very least,
receive €900 to cover the €500 buy-in at Casino de Barcelona and traveling
expenses to the world famous casino resort. Taking into consideration the
diverse backgrounds of all those entering the online poker sessions, Everest
Poker is specifically catering to each local tournament, providing for the needs
of each corresponding market. As such, the tournament is open to all
players, of any skill level. Even better, the tournament is structured to
give all players an equal chance at staying alive.
Having chartered the poker tournament industry with
the likes of the German and French Poker Tours, Everest is well-suited to throw
a poker tournament on a much wider scale. The first round of action is
already underway in Germany, where players have begun competing in preliminary
rounds. However, players can still join, which the German Poker Players
Association (the only German poker group licensed to organize poker tournaments
in Germany) is trying to incite. Players from all kinds of backgrounds,
financial status and skill level are being encouraged to join up in the action
at Everest right now.
