NFL Betting Odds and Superbowl Odds for 2006 NFL Season

Online Casino Conditions Staff
April 9, 2006

Online sports bettors should be excited to know that the NFL 2006 regular season has been unveiled, and that online casino sportsbooks have already begun posting nfl betting odds.  With the first week of games not beginning until September, it may seem a bit premature to begin tabulating nfl football odds lines.  However, that is precisely what a number of sportsbooks are doing in response to high demand from bettors and US football fans.  The betting lines for all sixteen games of the first week of action have been calculated - and online bookies have already begun accepting bets.

Although many things could drastically change between now and the start of regular season (the draft has not gone down, nor have training camps opened yet), there may be some good nfl betting odds to take advantage of.  Those with insider information on certain teams have already begun snagging up what they believe to be odds that will inevitably pay less later on down the road.

Beginning on Thursday, September 7, the season opens with a highly rivaled game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Miami Dolphins.  Considering the Steelers are the defending Super Bowl Champions, they have opened with a +6.5 point line.  The match-up should promise to be an exciting showdown, although the best showdown takes place on Sunday, September 10, when the Manning brothers square off against each other.  This game between the Indianapolis Colts and the New York Giants will be the first time ever that two Quarterback brothers will be competing against each other.  So far, betting odds are making the Colts a 3 point favorite.  The ABC Monday Night NFL Double Header has the Redskins favored 6 points over the Vikings, and the Chargers favored 1.5 points over the Raiders.

Another exciting AFC East game goes down on Sunday between the Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots, who are favored by 7.5 points as of yet.  As for the NFC, big rivals North Carolina and Atlanta play in Carolina, where the Falcons are favored to win by 4 points.  The NFC defending champions - Seattle Seahawks have been a 3.5 point advantage against the Detroit Lions, who will be having a busy first week.

Several online betting sites and casinos have also started posting nfl super bowl odds on who will be the Super Bowl Champion for 2006.  So far, it looks like the Lions are in the lead with odds showing around 6 to 1.  The rest of the pack begins to come in with 10 to 1 odds - bestowed on the New England Patriots, and 11 to 1 for the returning champion Steelers.  A team that has gotten a big boost as of late, are the Miami Dolphins, who are right behind Pittsburgh with 12 to 1 odds.  The fact these two teams will be squaring off on opening Thursday night, is a raucous start to the 2006 NFL season.
